Dr. Russell Standish was killed in an automobile crash on May 2 2008, in Australia.
The wikipedia entry currently records:
The identical twin brothers were born on 27 October, 1933[1] to Darcy Rowland Standish (1912–1997) and Hilda Marie Joyce Standish née Bailey (1912–74).[2] Their hometown is Newcastle, New South Wales in Australia. In 1951 as seventeen year olds, they were impressed by an evangelistic meeting in Newcastle held by George Burnside.
They studied at Avondale College in 1950 and '51, studying primary teaching primarily, and graduating from the "Theological Normal Course". They encountered Desmond Ford, who in 1950 was in his final year of study, and while they would later be highly critical of his theology, they "respected him very highly indeed. He was an able speaker even at that time and possessed a prodigious knowledge of the scriptures. His godly character was in evidence at that time..."
Colin is an author and administrator, as well as the founder and president of Hartland College. He received a PhD in psychology from the University of Sydney in Australia. He has worked in both academic and administrative jobs at Avondale College, West Indies College (now Northern Caribbean University) and Columbia Union College. He was ordained to the ministry on 17 April, 1971.
Russell is a medical doctor and author living in Australia. He completed medical training at the University of Sydney in Australia, and has worked as a hospital administrator and missionary in Southeast Asia and in Australia. He was ordained on 6 December 1980, is the founder of Remnant Ministries and runs Highwood.
They were presenters at the Questions on Doctrine 50th anniversary conference in 2007, where they also distributed free copies of their papers, each presented in book form.
Dr. Russell Standish died in a motor vehicle accident on May 2nd 2008 in Australia.

Our deepest sympathies to the family of Dr. Russell Standish!
I've followed with a great deal of interest the dedication Dr. Standish has shown to the work of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church. He will be greatly missed. No doubt his works will follow for a long time and will always bring back precious memories.
How I long the return of Jesus so death will no longer be a problem to torment us.

deepest sympathies to family of Dr Standish
Dear Stephen Standish, son of Russell Standish
It was always indeed a delight and pleasure to have your presence as a gentleman in our home - indicative of the values your father Russell bestowed upon you - a true gentleman and scholar, a man blessed with brilliance.
We send our deep sympathy to you, your siblings, your Mother and your Uncle Colin. You will be very proud of your Father and your Uncle Colin for the missionary they conduct and medical work your Father undertook.
As youngsters you may recall the afternoon meetings that your father and your uncle Colin delivered.
My clearest memory of your Father was a wonderful attribute - his voice full of depth, a lovely resonance that commanded an audience and kept it`s attention.
Stephen we welcome an email from you : Email: meaney.anne@gmail.com
I speak for and on behalf of my siblings.
With our kindest regards and memories
Anne, David, Lisa, Claire and John
What a sad thing to lose a friend and family member, such as Dr. Standish. The only thing that is good, is that we will see him again. Our sympathies to both the Standish and Cox families and close friends.
Let us not be weary in well doing and let us not grieve like those without hope. We will see Dr. Russel again shortly. His legacy remains in our hearts. This was a man blessed with so much, who gave so much to so many and walked with God as Enoch of old. He was so easy to listen to. The last time I saw him and heard his voice was when he stayed in our home in England and I was a very young man, maybe 35-40 years although he has stayed with my parents Enid and Bill over the years since. My condolences to all of the members of the Standish family. Be of a strong courage.
My mother Enid Tolman just told me of the news surrounding Dr. Russel Standish.
The Bible encourages us who know God not to grieve like those who are without hope. We will see our friend and brother Dr. Russel again shortly. His legacy remains in our hearts. This was a man blessed with so much, who gave so much to so many and walked with God as did Enoch of old. He was so easy to listen towhen he shared his words of wisdom. The last time I saw him and heard his voice was when he stayed in our home in England and I was a very young man, maybe 35-40 years although he has stayed with my parents Enid and Bill over the years since. My condolences to all of the members of the Standish family. Be of a strong courage.

Hi, Dr. Colin Standish! First of all, I'm very sorry to learn of the passing of your brother Russell. My sympathy is with you. I've known you since 1952. You were my kindergarten teacher in Ophir Glen in 1953. In those days, I didn't know you were a twin, let alone an identical twin. In fact, I didn't know until recent months, when I looked you up on the internet. It was then that I learned of Russell's passing. I know how it feels to lose a brother. My brother Anthony David Knox passed away in 1975, aged 24. About two years ago, Leon Johnson's wife passed away. She was originally Susan Edwards, the eldest child of Milton and Betty Edwards. I'm certain you remember that Leon and Susan were also your students in Ophir Glen. May the Lord Jesus comfort you always! Alan Knox
Hi,
Dr. Russell Standish will continue to be with us through his many books and articles. He died but his ministry is far from being over. His literature will continue to bless its readers throughout the world. He stood firm on what he knew to be the truth. My encouragement to his wife and children, his brother Colin Standish and Timothy Standish and all those blessed by the ministry of Russell to refine, to dig deeper into the truth and to persevere till The Day Comes. God Bless U all.
