There is some truth to what these talented girls said: The Bible is NOT a book for children, unless you want to explain all the archaic and violent events. How?

I admire your faithfulness to your dad, young ladies. And, we must certainly converse with people of other faiths. And, they as us are in the human family...this we share.
But...The Jewish,Atheist,Muslim,Buddhist,Hindu does not share what makes one first and foremost a Christian. The belief that Christ who is God came to die for our sins.
Now that "difference" is always important enough to keep at the forefront of "honest" dialogue. That "after all" is what the faith once delivered to the saints is centered in with it's fruit becoming a "lifestyle" in which there may be apparent overlaps with other faiths.
But, if indeed we are saved "without deeds/lifestyle" but by grace through faith in the merits of Christ "alone", We must be faithful in proclaiming "that exclusive truth" no matter how foolish and offensive it is to others.
Well done, girls! You must be very proud of your dad, and rightly so. Thank you so much sharing your creativity with all of us-- we're celebrating with you and for you!

As someone who read the Good Book cover-to-cover at age 8, I've always had to disagree with the notion that it's "not a book for children." The straightforward honesty of Scripture is a vaccine to sensationalism--and the sooner someone drinks the Bible in without preconceptions, the better. From inspiration to such issues as what God knows and when He knows it, letting the Bible speak for itself first before hearing someone expound on what they think it ought to have said is perhaps the only prevention for fundamentalism.

Good call Gideon!
Different ideas are scary, best to just judge a book by it's cover. Exploring the idea of God as a Muslim/Atheist/Jewish/Christian certainly sounds politically correct, nothing is more accepted and less political than that! I feel foisted upon too.
Ohhh! Hannity is on, gotta go. . . .

So much to say and yet so little time. First of all i do find the video impressive. The video was well made,if the average man wasn't aware of the reverse psychology they would have fall for it. Sharing ideas and thought is good. When it comes to meeting God its a growing experience not a competition. We all have strong views, yes indeed. In the end its just you and God and the books (judgment). Ignorance don't protect you, its just makes a problem worst. In other words, why do today when you can do tomorrow.
Now, as for the bible not being for children I disagree. The book wasn't made to be put for decoration. It was made for all those who want to meet with God, can reach him. If God bring light in the world by speaking as well as life. Also the bible having his words and command (not suggestion) should educate and guide the reader. The thing is that people see the bible and think its just a book. But in reality its a book with life. If a person was to go into the book as if it was a plain book, they can be confused and led to a false sense of interpretation. Naturally the only way a person can get it right is the fact they have to pray first and accept the fact that its not just a book. Also when you go into it pray with the intent to seek knowledge for your own spiritual growth and direction.
For every good thing at this time we are living their is a bad. If you believe in God then you have to accept the fact there is a devil who will try to keep you from reading Gods words. Also you will be tempted to not read.
A child reading a bible may get confused with out a guide. The reading level is different. I say pray with the child and let them read first then ask them what it means to them.
But as a parent you are a guide they will come to you for answers. But the best answer is the source (God). So their is some graphic nature of violence. Kids in general would like to be told the truth other wise you will lose their respect when they are older.
And yes i said it.
oh dear i said a mouth full.
thank you.

hahahaha, brilliant. his girls were great, so witty and clever.
i read the book and was very moved. unsettling most certainly. glaringly hopeful however.

Remember: We are all born atheists and even those who profess to have a god are atheistic toward every other one.

As soon as they said the book was by a "Muslim/Atheist/Jewish/Christian", my eyes glazed over. Another politically-correct pile of BS foisted upon us.
There's no common sense left in the world.
