According to this story in the Press-Enterprise, Loma Linda University appears to be spreading out in one of the fastest growing areas of California.

I found these open and personal thoughts by a young Episcopalian studying at Loma Linda University a rare insight into the struggles of a modern Christian medical student. Not only does one see a very thoughtful and spiritually sensitive soul, but his review of Loma Linda should make the faculty proud.

Yesterday's Redlands Daily Facts has a glowing bio piece on Rep. Jerry Lewis (R-Redlands) who has been a good friend to Loma Linda University. I thought this to be an interesting defense of earmarks.

Beginning in 1988, Lewis convinced majority Democrats to fund an innovative technology at Loma Linda University Medical Center, which focused a proton beam to kill cancers without harming surrounding tissue. The Proton Treatment Center has gone on to treat thousands of patients.

Today, Monday, January 14, 2008, I finally agreed with those who have long asserted that Loma Linda University should no longer require chapel attendance. I held out for thirty-three years and four months as a professor in the School of Religion, but no longer. At long last I have conceded that it should be strictly voluntary.
